I'm Kristie, a body neutral strength coach and ED recovery advocate. I got into strength training after years of intense cardio and dieting (ahem, orthorexia) left me suffering with chronic lower back pain and body dysmorphia.
Functional fitness helped me recover both physically and mentally, and Intuitive Eating gave me the energy I needed to become an absolute unit.
But idk how I would have even started that process if I wasn't already a personal trainer. Most weightlifting programs are by gym bros, for gym bros, and they skip over all the basics.
So I made this for you. Beginner Barbell is a culmination of my 7 years of training, coaching, and being absolutely obsessed with strength. I think you'll love it.
Xandra K, NYC
“Beginner Barbell has fundamentally changed the way I understand and approach strength training. I feel confident going into the heavy-weights section of the gym. I would 100% recommend Beginner Barbell.

Beginner Barbell is for people with less than one year of consistent weight training experience or those who have not consistently trained in the past year.
You will get the most out of Beginner Barbell by having access to a barbell (with rack and weights), a variety of free weights, a bench or box, and a cable machine.
Beginner Barbell is a 12-week program that includes a total of 24 workouts. The workouts can be re-used indefinitely, and 12 months of access is included.
Each workout targets the full body, focusing on the movement patterns we encounter in everyday life (squat, hinge, push, pull, carry). Most sessions include a warm-up, 6 exercises completed as supersets, and a cool-down. Each workout takes approximately 45 minutes to complete. Progressions and modifications are given so that you always get the most of of each session.
